Week 23

David's prayer was answered yesterday. He had one of the engineer class tests yesterday. He was nervous. He got up at 5 a.m. to study, calculating that he won't be able to study and watch Yuna while I was at work. Well, God and Yuna knew what David needed. So she woke up at 4:45 p.m. for the first time since 7:45 p.m. the night before. Yes, she slept for 21 hours straight. David said she made a few noises twice but she was already back to sleep by the time he warmed up milk and got to her room.
I was not sure what time I should put her bed after such a long sleep she had, but did the night routine and put her bed around 10 p.m., thinking I might need to wake up a few times at night. Nope. She slept till 9:20 a.m. for another 11 hours. Yuna baby... what a oyakoukou* baby you are! Thanks to Yuna, David happily finished the test in time.

5 months

She is getting SO BIG!!!!

Each day, she does new things.

Yesterday, she slept 15 hours straight and gave this smile at 10:45 a.m. when she woke up.

Then, she reached the flog and pulled the handle to hear the music for the first time.

Today, she rolled from the tummy to her back for the first time. She has not mastered it yet but we are so excited. Later today while I was at work, David tried to give her WATER with a CUP. (David's report: "she coughed.") Then, he also gave a taste of LIME. Why lime?! "Because she kept playing with it and trying to pick it up. So I gave a little taste to her." David, she never tasted anything rather than breast milk or formula (and a little bit of banana). Why does it have to be lime?! So Yuna had adventurous day with daddy.

Week 21

I love how this picture shows what they were doing at the time. Outing with Daddy who is reading the Tale of Genji, the first novel ever written in Japan. Yuna is wearing a dress from sister Tronto bought in Italy, and a stocking with fake shoes drawn. I love those.


Have you read Margaret telling about her brothers having "a thing for drinks[/food]"? Well, this is David's newest discovery. He said "it was cheap."

Dear David, who is far away in Washington.

In case you are dying to know what Yuna and I did today, here is a detailed report.

2:30 a.m. Feed Yuna. (Recently, she started to wake up in the middle of the night again.)
5:30 Feed Yuna.
8:30 Feed Yuna and up for the day. Ate breakfast, did laundry, and played with Yuna.
10:00 Yuna took a nap. I took shower.
10:30 Yuna is awake again for another meal.
11:00 Started looking for a recorder and cleaned up our bedroom. Put away some baby clothes that she can no longer wear.
12:00 p.m. Yuna took a nap. I ate lunch, the left over pulled pork.
12:30 Fed Yuna. Prepared dinner. Cannot remember what else I did.
2:00 Fed Yuna but both fell sleep during, thus the feeding finished after 3:00.
3:10 Went to the Provo city library. Forgot to put the stroller in the trunk. Carried Yuna all around the library with 6 children books, a DVD and 2 CDs in the other hand. At one moment Yuna was sandwiched between my thigh and arm; she was holding my clothes to avoid the fall. It was the 10th birthday of Provo library so I got a free cookie and lemonade.
4:10 Came home and another nap time for Yuna. She was exhausted from trying not to be dropped during the visit to the library.
5:00 Fed Yuna
6:00 Fed myself a bowl of curry with bread. Start calling Aunts to see if they could babysit Yuna tomorrow. Sat in the porch and watered plants.

6:40 Bathed Yuna and put her bed.
7:30 Called some more to find a babysitter. (Thank you aunt Anna!)
7:40 Called David to say I love you.
8:00 Checked emails, news, and facebook.

Now, I think it's time for me to slowly move myself to bed. David, I love you and miss you. You need to text me which classroom I am going tomorrow to cover your Japanese History class.

Week 20

Yuna and I dropped David off at the airport this morning. Yuna was quiet and sleepy on the way to the airport, but was wide awake during the entire drive back home. So we sang a lot of songs together in the car. Maybe that is why her mouth is a diamond shape?!



Yuna is wearing her favorite leg warmers which match with Amara's.



The leg warmers fit well around her thighs but not her ankles. Hence, they look like this a few minutes after I put them on to her.



I am very relieved to report that Yuna has learned to sleep on her tummy (no more big worry about SID). Today, she took 3 short naps on her tummy. I am a proud mom.



The house is very quiet without my dear husband (= no TV/games nor David's friends). We miss you, but are looking forward to hearing the full report on Matt's swearing and everything!
